Clean Challenge is working with local business and community leaders in Haiti to create new, profitable and sustainable businesses with accompanying new jobs, leading to lasting improvements to the local Haitian economy.

Haitian-owned and operated new business opportunities will create a multitude of new jobs, including:
  • Transport Station managers
  • Operations managers
  • Truck drivers
  • Sanitation workers - solid waste & recycling
  • Sanitation workers - compost materials
  • Sales reps - recycling and compost
  • General administrative and financial support

Once Haiti's waste management infrastructure is sound and its trash is well-maintained, then the surrounding environments, such as streets and neighborhoods, beaches and ocean waters, will also be returned to a state of natural beauty. This will drive improvements in Haiti's tourism business, which will, in turn, create additional new jobs in hospitality, in bars and restaurants, and in outdoor activities such as fishing, sailing, and water sports.
